Love Is A Professional Word

I read a blog written by a friend (link below), to which she was inspired by her friend who made the initial statement—-that served as a fresh reminder of why we do the work.

The title of the blog was profound and drew me into the walls of my heart and served as a fresh reminder.

“Love is a Professional Word.” - Ayesha Schomburgk

I let this sit with me for awhile, like a compelling speech or a movie that stirred up emotion.. like magic of a moment when we feel something deeper than what we see.

We’re all called to purpose, whether we seek it or have identified it in our lives. Creator created us to have gifts and talents to serve one another in and there’s no task too small or big, we’re equally serving a purpose in our work. To the bank teller, the janitors, to the CEO’s, and those that work to build change through social justice. We all have a position to fill. Some roles may seem more glamorized than others, but Creator see’s it all equally servanthood to the communities, businesses, nonprofits and people we serve.

How can love be a professional word? Love has a power and prosperity element. Meaningful growth comes from love. Love is the root of passion. The definition of passion is described as; strong and barely controllable emotion.

The work of our hands, feet, intellect, the beautiful nature of ideals that may stem a movement that surpasses our lifespan; the passion to change the world because perhaps you suffered some of the pains in life or the suffering of others ignites your love (passion) to do something about it. I always say, life is about people.

The accomplishment of working towards a goal is not always about the end- goal—it’s about the journey and levels you conquered along the way. I love the fight of it all and working for social justice change is daunting, can be extremely challenging, and it can feel impossible at times. The love of that vision you were given will keep you going! God calls certain people to trail blaze, so others who may never know your work, your name and the many late hour nights you engaged yourself into it can have the passion of what you worked on!

“For love of what you do, and the feeling it gives you when you know it to be meaningful.” Claire Louge
